This is the world’s largest theme park covering 86,000m², and the theme is Ferrari. The park is located on Yas Island within the Yas Marina Circuit.  If you’re not a car enthusiast don’t be put off you’ll find much more than cars at this theme park. Thankfully being indoors you have an opportunity to escape the heat and have a lot of fun while doing it. The theme park rides can be divided into categories of family-friendly (9 rides), kids rides (4 rides) and thrill rides (4 rides). Each ride is inspired by some part of the Ferrari car story. For example Viaggio Italia takes you on a virtual ride above Italy where the Ferrari brand originated. Speed of Magic is a 4D movie and simulator ride into the various terrains on Earth. Made in Maranello takes you on a ride into the Ferrari factory.

Other rides let you try your driving skills, test your knowledge about Ferrari and spin around in a tyre on a teacup-type ride. For younger kids there are mini-race tracks, carousels and a play area with slides, climbing apparatus, pedal cars and remote control race cars. For thrill seekers there is the Rosso, the fastest rollercoaster on Earth. The rollercoaster cars are Formula 1 Ferraris and you get taken on 70° turns along a 2.07km track. There is a state-of-the-art racing simulator, the Fiorano GT Challenge rollercoaster which reaches 95km/hr and a 290 meter go-kart track (height restriction 1.5m-2.1m).

Ferrari World Shows

When you have had enough of the rides settle back to one of the exciting shows.  Cinema Maranello takes you into an old Italian theatre of the 1920s to see a film about Enzo racing through the Italian countryside. It was shot with vintage cars and is rejected in 4K format on an extra large screen. RED is a live circus-like theatre show which tells the story of two people caught in the world of RED. It includes dance, BMX biking, acrobatics and mega wheels.

The Tyre Change Show is a comical live performance by a duo of “mechanics” that get up to amazing antics while trying to change wheels in the pit for Scuderia Ferrari. Viva Ferrari is a show using 3D animation, dance, music, optical illusions and multimedia.

Ferrari World for Families

Ferrari World is perfect for a family outing. Note that some of the rides have age and height restrictions; some rides require visitors to be over 1.3 meters. There are baby changing facilities and places where you can feed your baby on both the Plaza level and the Mezzanine level. You can rent a stroller from the Stroller Rental Counter at the entrance to the Plaza level. Strollers cost AED 40 or AED 60 for a double stroller. Kids under 12 years must be accompanies by an adult over 18 years old.

Note that the price is determined by height not age. Those under 1.3 meters pay the reduced price. You are not allowed to bring in food from outside or glass containers of any kind nor are ice coolers allowed. The Scuderia Challenge and Scuderia F1 Drivers simulator rides cost an additional 100AED each (all other park rides are included in the entrance price). The tickets for these two rides are timed so get your timed tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
