Canadian Expat Clubs
The Canadian Expat Association – This is an international association providing a forum for Canadian expats across the globe, not just in Abu Dhabi.

There are quite a few Canadians in the UAE so you won’t have any problem at all finding a fellow Canuck to share a pancake with!
British Expat Groups
For all those from the UK, enjoy these great clubs!
BritishExpats.com – This website gives lots of useful information for those relocating to Abu Dhabi with lots of practical details. There is a forum, photo gallery, chat room, classified ad section and useful links page.
St. David’s Society Abu Dhabi – This is a Walsh society which provides a social and cultural platform for Welsh expats. They also raise money for charities in both the UAE and Wales. Membership is 100AED and gets you discounts at several stores. There are more than 200 members not all of whom are welsh, you don’t have to be from Wales to join.
Abu Dhabi Irish Society Abu Dhabi – You don’t have to be Irish to join this group which meets regularly and holds several annual parties and events. Membership is 250AED for families and 150AED for singles.
Americans in Abu Dhabi
USA citizens will have lots of company!
Americans in Abu Dhabi – This is a relatively new group which meets up on the last Thursday of every month. There are currently 96 members.
Abu Dhabi Expats – This group is for all Anglos, there are currently 439 members who meet up regularly.
American Women’s Network (AWN) – All women affiliated with the USA are welcome here, this group has been active in the UAE since 1994 and provides social events and activities as well as help integrating in the Abu Dhabi society.
They assist new comers to the country with vital information and advice. There is no membership fee.
Aussies Abroad – This group aims to promote the Australian culture, offer a social platform and strengthen bonds with the AEU society. The group holds monthly events such as Auskicks for kids, dinner and drinks and coffee mornings.
Membership is 100AED for individuals or 150AUD for families. Membership also gets you a 15% corporate discount on Etihad Airways fares.
South Africans in Abu Dhabi
Although there is no official South African Expat Club the South African Embassy tries to bring expats together for certain events. The most popular and enjoyable is the embassy’s Freedom Day celebration held annually on April 27th.
There are South African expats in Abu Dhabi and they usually meet either through general expat societies or through mutual interests like rugby. Different groups of South Africans do try to organize get-togethers which are often listed on forums and blogs like S.A. Expat.
