My Abu Dhabi Itineraries, 

We interviewed Lesley Ann Wallace, BISAD’s principal to find out her secret tips and suggestions to explore Abu Dhabi, her new base where she currently resides with her family.

My role as Principal of The British International School Abu Dhabi, a member of the Nord Anglia Education family, has led me to live here for the last two years with my husband and two children who attend the school.

I was previously the Head of Primary at the British International School Puxi, Shanghai, which is also part of the Nord Anglia Education family.

My Favorite Abu Dhabi Area

My favorite area of Abu Dhabi is Khalifa Park.

Where I Would Stay

If I were to choose one hotel to stay in Abu Dhabi it would be Emirates Palace.

It has outstanding staff, excellent choice of restaurants and who can say no to the signature cappuccino with gold leaf.

Best Local Food

The food you must try in Abu Dhabi is chicken shawarma without a doubt

Where I like to Eat

My favourite restaurant is Sho Cho for Sushi and sashimi or any of the other restaurants in Souq Qaryat Al Beri

Don’t Miss these Attractions

Three places or sightseeing spots you should not miss in Abu Dhabi are…. The Grand Mosque, Ferrari World and theCorniche.

More About Lesley Ann

Lesley-Ann graduated from the University of Northumbria in 1995 with a Bachelor of Education. In 2010, she was awarded a National Professional Qualification of Headship (NPQH).

Prior to her appointment as Principal at the British International School Abu Dhabi in 2010, Lesley-Ann led the primary school at the The British International School Shanghai, Puxi. She has extensive experience in primary and secondary education and prior to joining the team in Shanghai she worked in a variety of leadership roles at the Gulf English School and Garden International School Malaysia.

Working overseas, Lesley-Ann has also held a range of key managerial roles. She is currently studying for a Master’s in Education at the University of Leicester.
